Citizens describe "what they love about the Mayville community" at the first public meeting.

The Village of Mayville and Fremont Township were awarded a Partnerships for Change grant in the third round of funding to assist in the transition of a new Joint Municipal Planning Commission. Under the grant, LIAA assisted the two jurisdictions in the development of a comprehensive master plan.

Prior to Partnerships for Change, representatives from the two jurisdictions had been working collaboratively on “Project Good Start," a community inventory and survey project. Established under the Joint Municipal Planning Act (Public Act 226 of 2003), the Mayville Community Planning Commission is one of only a few such commissions in the state.
