Project Partner Meeting

This meeting initiated the Partnerships for Change project. Meeting participants discussed the goals and objectives outlined in the Partnerships for Change proposal, issues and concerns related to the overall success of the project, a preliminary work plan and important data sets.

This meeting involved a small group of representatives from the three jurisdictions. Representatives worked together to develop a draft agreement for a Joint Planning Commission. After some revisions, a draft was returned to the three jurisdictions to be formally presented before each board/council for comment.

This meeting also involved a small group of representatives from the three jurisdictions. This meeting provided an opportunity to further discuss the implementation of the Joint Planning Commission Agreement.

This was the first meeting of the new Bear Lake Community Joint Planning Commission. At this meeting, the commisison initated opening meeting procedures, including: electing officers, establishing a set meeting time, discusing education requiremnts and discussing the operating budget.

In addition, the joint planning commission initiated the comprehensive planning process. The commission, discussed the formal "notice of intent" to plan procedures, discussed the project work plan, discussed the proposed activites of the first public meeting, reviewed existing goals and objectives and reviewed the project website.

Public Meeting Meeting

Date: December 18, 2006
Time: 7:00pm

Nearly 50 people put off their holiday shopping to participate in the first public meeting for the Bear Lake Community comprehensive planning process. Participants were presented with a presentation on the long term planning process, opportunities for participation and a brief summary of the community. Participants also participated in several brainstorming exercises to help frame some of the issues of the Bear Lake Community.

This meeting provided an opportunity for JPC member to discuss the result of the public meeting, including major community development "themes:. In addition, the JPC discussed a preliminary Vision Statement, the complexities of the comprehensive planning process, a potential survey and the review of current goals and objectives. The JPC also decided to hold a special meeting on Feb. 7th to foamlly discuss the goals and abojectives of the current master plans.

This special meeting of the Joint Planning Commission provided an opportunity to discus and review the staus of the goals and objectives from the previous master plans in Bear Lake and Pleasanton Twps. It also provided an opportunity to discuss some of the new important issues concerning the entire Bear Lake Community.

This meeting provided another opportunity for the project partners to discuss the preliminary goals and objectives of the master plan. Meeting participants also discussed the results of several new maps and a brief social/economic anlaysis of the entire community.

This meeting provided an oportunity for the JPC to discuss the contents of the survey, the upcomming public meeting and the preliminary goals and objectives.

Public Meeting Meeting
Location: Bear Lake School Media Center
Date: April 18, 2007
Time: 6:30PM

This meeting included a brainstorming exercise in which Bear Lake citizens helped to shape and establish the goals and objectives for the comprehensive plan. In addition, citizens were provided a brief summary of the planning process a summary of the new land use/cover study and community census statistics.

This meeting provided an opportunity for the Joint Planning Commission to review the results (Goals and Objectives) of the public meeting and some preliminary results of the community survey. In addition, the JPC discussed the upcomming May events: (1)Map 14th - Informational meeting of Jurisdictional Boads/Council (2) May 17th - MAP Training session

This meeting provided an opportunity for the Joint Planning Commission to discuss the preliminary Goals and Objectives of the Plan.

This meeting provided an opportunity discuss the preliminary strategies for the comprehensive plan and begin mapping the future land use map.

This meeting provided an opportunity for planning commission memebers to identify needed revisions on the draft chapters of the plan, discuss revisions to the goals, objectives and strategies and further discuss the future land use map. The planning commission also dicusses the outline and responsibilities for the up-comming public meeting.

This meeting provided an opportunity for the citizens of the Bear Lake Community to review the results of the communiyt-wide survey and make comments and suggestions on the draft goals, objectives, strategies and future land use of the map.
