South Campus Entrance

test_crop.jpgLast year, the City of Traverse City/Charter Township of Garfield Recreational Authority initiated a comprehensive planning process to develop an effective design for a new south campus entrance (formerly known as Franke Road extension) within the Grand Traverse Commons. The development of the new south campus entrance is required as part of the transfer of property from the State of Michigan to the Grand Traverse Commons Redevelopment Corporation to provide a southern entrance to the property from Silver Lake Road.

Due to the substantial impact a new southern campus entrance will have on the overall transportation and circulation plans of the Grand Traverse Commons, the Recreation Authority and the Joint Planning Commission have coordinated planning efforts.

Give Us Your Opinion - On February 26th, March 26th, and April 23rd, the Recreational Authority and the Joint Planning Commission hosted public meetings to provide an opportunity for citizens to learn more about the planning process, discuss the proposed southern campus entrance, review design concpets, ask questions and provide input. If you were unable to attend this meeting, or you have additional comments, please link to the "participate" section of this website.
