Joint Planning Commission Meeting

This meeting initiated the Partnerships for Chnage project. Meeting participants discussed the goals and objectives outlined in the Partnerships for Change proposal, issues and concerns related to the overall success of the project, a preliminary work plan and important data sets.

Joint Planning Commission Meeting

This meeting allowed participants to further discuss the project work plan, including the identification of several key meeting dates. Participants also were presented with a series of maps that will be used throughout the planning process. Participants agreed to submit a list of concerns and issues concerning the future development of the Mayville Community to LIAA.

This meeting provided commission memebers an opportunity to
review the revised work plan, discuss the status of Project Good Start and the parcel data update, review the goals and objectives from the existing master plans and discuss the results of the "Master Plan Survey". Commission members then discussed additional concerns and issues relevant to the community. Finally, commission members reviewed the project website and discussed the public meeting scheduled for October 24th.

The first public meeting in the planning process provided an opportunity for participants to: Learn more about the Partnerships for Change garnt program; the comprehensive planning project; the Mayville Area Joint Planning Commission; opportunities for participation; and results from Project GOOD START. Meeting participants also walked through a series of brainstorming exercises to help determine the "vision" of the mayville community and establish goals and abojectives.

This meeting provided commission memebers an opportunity to review and discuss the results from the public meeting. Participants were presented with a summary of the items notes at the public meeting. The planning commission was also presented with a preliminary vision statement and a list of goals and objectives. The goals and objectives were based upon the reults of the public meeting, previous input from the planning commission and the results of Project Good START.
Planning Commissioners were given two weeks to provide comments on the preliminary goals and objectives. LIAA agreed to provide prelimnary draft of the comprehensive plan for the next meeting. The next planning commission meeting will be held at 6:30, November 28th at the District Library.

Joint Planning Commission Meeting

At this meeting, LIAA staff members presented the planning commission with the first draft of the Mayville Community Comprehensive Plan. In addition, participants discussed in more detail the several of the proposed goals and objectives of the plan, the results from the land use/ land cover update, and potential future land use descriptions. Participants agreed to provide LIAA with comments and suggestions form the plan and a preliminary outline of potential future land use descriptions.

Please remember the draft plan is a working document. Sections 10 and 11 will be completed in later stages of the comprehensive planning process. Due to the future re-organization of some document materials; tables, figures and maps numbers are either not included in the document or will be corrected at a later date. All the maps of this document will be provided soon. Some maps can be accessed under the "Maps" link at the top of this page. At this meeting, the Joint Planning Commission discussed and provided final revisions to the draft comprehensive plan. In addition, the JPC discuss language pertaining to draft future land use definitions.

Joint Planning Commission Meeting Location: Mayville District Library Date: January 30, 2007 Time: 6:30pm This Meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the status of the comprehensive planning project. In addition, the JPC reviewed and discussed edits to the Draft Goals and Objectives of the plan and Draft Strategies (to implement the plan). The JPC will reconvene February 27, to discuss the first full draft of the comprehensive plan and develop the future land use map.

This meeting provided an opportunity to discus the next steps (adoption procedures) of the comprehensive planning process. In addition, planning commission members discussed the staregies of the plan and worked to establish the first future land use map.

The public meeting provided citizens an opportunity to learn more about the tasks completed under the comprehensive planning process and an opportunity to provide comments and suggestions concerning the goals/objectives/strategies of the plan.

At the the JPC Meeting, the JPC discussed the comments received from the public meeting and revised the goals/objectives.startaegies. In addtion, the group worked on the future land use map.

This meeting was the wrap up of the project. Final adoption procedures were discussed and the future implementation of the joint planning commisison was discussed.
